Paul gives us three ways to prepare for eternity: know our hope; work out of our hope, and guard the truth of our hope. We must know that hope is found through faith alone in Christ alone, and nowhere else. We work out of our hope, because sacrificial love is the fruit of faith in Christ. We guard the the truth of our hope by resisting false gospels and preaching the scandal of the cross.
