Application Questions
1. How has God’s word helped you in times of suffering? How can you use God’s word to prepare for those times now?
2. How does it help to consider death? How does it help to consider what you don’t know? How does the wisdom of Ecclesiastes point you to Christ?
3. Where are you looking for truth? How can you grow in your exposure to God’s truth? How is the truth of God’s word good news for you?
4. Do you welcome the conviction that God’s word brings? How do you deal with your knowledge of your own sin?
5. How does the unchaining nature of God’s word help you?
6. What kinds of things we’re giving our attention to? Are the people you’re listening to deceiving you or edifying you? Are you more interested in controversy or to Christ? And what’s the fruit in your life on the teaching you hear? Are you worn out by what you’re studying?
7. Have you encountered the grace of God in Christ. Are you overcome by his goodness to you? Is the forgiveness of God the most gripping reality for you?
8. Do you love what God loves? Do you hate sin the way Jesus does? Are you growing in obedience to God? What are the ways you are loving others better today than you were 10 years ago?
